Counter seating around a bespoke island creates a sociable space for family and friends to gather, prep or share a meal, grab a snack, or sit and chat. A Bora Hob with downdraft extraction keeps the cook involved with the gathering, and keeps the cooking smells contained.

Two-toned colouring and a combination of handle-less cabinetry with cleverly placed vertical door pulls, lends an impression of width, height and lightness in a space that feels coherently designed and connected, both across the interior and with the outside. The green of the garden, viewed from the generously wide window, reflects on the surface of the island, and is in tune with the feel of the texture of a natural wood finish. A single blue toned wall with matching bench seating introduces a splash of contrasting colour to add an element of surprise.

With no natural light entering a small cloakroom, this design opted to embrace both the luminary and spatial limitations by adding to the darkness while playing with the light. The shadow play begins with the heightened proportions of a deep REXA ‘Soave’ bowl in Arctic White placed on a low slung, floating vanity made from dramatically monochromatic Nero Marquina marble – the light and shade of both slicing through the darkness of the background.

In the principal ensuite, a section of wall between the bedroom, dressing, and bathroom was opened up to showcase a large walk-in shower, statement bath, and a double vanity – creating in the process a perfect space for bathing, dressing, and relaxing in some style.

A second ensuite features a square bath, also from Rexa, designed especially for a compact space, and providing options for dip in a tub or a full height shower.
