Kitchen
A stainless steel work surface, generous sink, and plain white subway tiles – with open shelving to house ingredients and equipment in plain sight – give a backdrop that mimics the clean, clear lines of a professional working space. Deep blue cabinetry co-ordinates beautifully with copper hardware and walnut wood internals.

A back kitchen – (semi-concealed behind the fridge) – supplies additional room for more professional equipment and storage..

The foreground makes subtle shifts from ‘professionally robust’ to ‘luxuriously chic’ – with a change of countertop to a natural, beautiful, marble, and the addition of seating to indicate this is as much a sociable space as a working one.

A coiled spring tap evokes the working of a professional space

A foot rail, in the kitchen and the bar, nods to the stylings of publicly shared spaces and old-school hospitality.

Copper details are cleverly included – as a reference to a traditional cook’s working material – and elevated beyond mere ‘utility’ for decorative consistency.

Ensuite Bathroom

The main ensuite bathroom is a generous space with its sash window framing the entry point for copious natural light.

A ‘floating’, soft-pink, double vanity supports twin elegantly footed bowl-shaped basins. A large bespoke mirror is flanked by a pair of sentry-style light fittings that are further ‘mirrored’ on either side of the bath.

A splash-back for the basins takes the form of light-reflecting biophilic Zellige tiles.

Patterned floor tiles give a delicately balanced anchor for the floor and connect with the colour of the cabinetry.

Zellige style tiles are used on all four walls to reflect and enhance the movement of light that underpins the design of the room.

Frameless shower screens act as protection from water spray without adding visual weight.

A recessed cabinet provides additional storage space above the WC.

Controls are chosen for the lightness of their softly silvered tone, and positioned so they can be accessed to turn on the water without risk of getting immediately wet.

Family Bathroom

A mix of warm wood tones and a delicate pink background combine with a circular mirror and arching shapes to add a contrasting softness to the sharper, starker, high-visibility of matt black pipes, hooks, controls, and shower-screen supports.

Recessed lighting illuminates the back wall of the shower and the inside of a storage niche.

The shower head, attached to the simply elegant arc of a slim black pipe, not only looks beautiful but delivers water like a natural rain shower: positioned high and horizontal to rain water down as if from the sky – gently or otherwise – for an all enveloping effect.

Loft Bathroom

A loft bathroom looking to focus light and height and to find best positions for supine and standing bathing and showering, creates in the process an idea of bathing as an almost spiritual experience.

An open-shelved vanity keeps this space from feeling heavy, while frameless shower glass and a bespoke fitted mirror allow light and space to be shared throughout the room.

Patterned floor tiles add a boldly decorative detail that keeps this otherwise bright white palette in check.

Cloakroom

The smallest room in the house needn’t feel any less considered than the largest light-flooded bathroom.

Handmade tiles in a fish-scale design bring light reflecting, tonally shifting effects to this small space. Materials have been carefully chosen to contrast light with dark and employ colours that are tonally compatible: they include ceramic, wood, lacquer, and bronze metallics.

A solid wood vanity support appropriately ‘floats’ above floor level as it gives support to a ‘floating world’ styled basin, whose extreme depth adds to a sense of ‘extravagant hospitality’.

Steam Room

A basement steam room provides Spa treatment in private domestic space.

Generous seating and storage are all factored in as part of the experience.
