In bathroom design, we think that a spa is a great way to create a space for you to unwind and relax, allowing you to de-stress and rejuvenate. At Day True, we believe that our design is Luxury Considered, tailored to you to give you a better life.
What is a spa?
A spa is a space where people go to relax to improve their health and wellness. More specifically, it can help to improve circulation using hydrotherapy through hot and cold-water treatments. Steam rooms and saunas can help to dilate your blood vessels, and cold-water immersion can help to constrict them- both improving circulation. Not only this, but a spa can reduce muscle tension as well as boost overall well-being and mental health. Learn more about spas by reading our ‘Spa Beginners Guide’
How can we help you to create a spa-like environment in your home?
At Day True, we can help you to create your own at home spa using our expertise and product knowledge. Here, we will consider lighting, colour, texture, temperature, and key features such as the bath and steam room area.
Lighting
To create a soft and inviting space, ensure that your bathroom lighting is diffused rather than being harsh and bright. You may even want to consider a warm-light bulb to add a glow.
In our Bickenhall Mansion project, the lighting has been set at eye-level, to diffuse across the room to add a warm glow.
Colour
Choose a colour scheme which is calming, using neutral tones to create a feeling of serenity. Natural biophilic elements and materials such as stone, wood, and plants can also add to the relaxing atmosphere.
Temperature
Underfloor heating can be a great addition to your at home spa, creating a comfortable living environment. It also provides health benefits, improving air quality by reducing the circulation of dust and other allergens. This is due to it operating at a lower temperature, circulating in the air in a different way to your classic radiator.
Bathing
A bath can help you to relax, allowing you to soothe your muscles whilst promoting the feelings of calm.

Have you considered a whirlpool bath?
A whirlpool bath is a type of bath that uses jets to create a swirling motion in the water through air jets. This is a luxury considered feature, which uses water pressure to create a massaging effect to help loosen tense muscles and promote circulation. Steam room
Including a steam room within your bathroom can help you to relax your muscles and help to improve your blood circulation. It also has skin health benefits, where the humidity opens up your pores to help to remove impurities from the skin.
If you have respiratory issues such as asthma, a steam room can be hugely beneficial for you as the heat can help to loosen your mucus.

Shower head
Consider having a waterfall showerhead with an improved water flow to improve your showering experience. You may want to look for features such as adjustable water pressure and spray patterns too, to help you to tailor your experience to suit your preferences.
